You’ll be surprised, but planning your wedding day timeline can be almost as important as picking your dress! You want your day to be as smooth and stress free as possible, it’s a huge part of your overall experience!
Let me tell you how long each step of your beauty timeline will take!
Bridal Trial, what’s good to know?
Before the big day comes the practice run. Booking a trial isn’t just about picking your lip color, it's a full-on beauty discovery session. When scheduling a trial we recommend to leave about 3 to 4 hours. Here’s why: You get to play around with different look variations, see how they wear, tweak anything until it feels just right. Most importantly, make sure you take a lot of pictures, so you can actually see how it photographs and how you like this look on you, because even if you like how this style looks on your inspiration picture from Pinterest, doesn’t mean you will like how it looks on you! We are all different, and trial is an opportunity for you to see what fits YOU best!
Pro tip: Make sure your artist takes their time. At JValldi Styling, we take your trial seriously. We take photos, test the look under different lighting, and most importantly - listen. You walk out knowing exactly what you’re getting on the big day.
Wedding Day:
Alright, it’s go time! For the bride, we recommend budgeting around 2 to 2.5 hours for hair and makeup. That might sound like a lot, but trust me, you want time to enjoy the process with no rush.
It's all about the details: skincare, blending, lashes, perfecting every curl or wave. The goal isn’t just to look amazing, but to feel calm and confident heading into your best day ever.
Bridal Party:
When it comes to your bridal party, we usually give about 1.5 hours for bridesmaids hair and makeup (45 minutes for makeup and 45 minutes for hair). This is usually enough to create a nice elegant look without rushing.
Keep in mind though, this time is budgeted for styling with hot tools (wave, curl, updo), if you want to get additional blowout before that, always let your stylist know in advance (not the day of the wedding), that will take longer and needs to be accounted for in the schedule.
Creating a Wedding Morning Timeline:
Here’s where things get really helpful. Creating a beauty timeline ensures everyone knows what’s happening and when. At JValldi Styling, we help to build that out for you, leaving some extra cushion for “unpredicted morning situations”.
Why does this matter? Because the last thing you want is to feel rushed or behind schedule. A good timeline means more time for mimosas, first looks, and enjoying the morning vibes with zero stress.
So whether you’re deep in the planning phase or just getting started, knowing how long hair and makeup takes helps everything feel easier. And if you’re looking for a team that knows how to keep the glam fun, stress-free, and on time, you know where to find us!
